About the report and applied standards

The Integrated Annual Report 2017 is the first integrated report of the PGNiG Group. The information contained in the report relates to the period from January 1st, 2017 to December 31st, 2017 and describes the status at the end of 2017, unless otherwise stated in the content of the report. Reporting is carried out on an annual basis. Until now, financial and non-financial data have been reported separately.

This report contains information from the consolidated non-financial information statement prepared in accordance with the article 49b and 55 of the Accounting Act, which requires public-interest entities to disclose their non-financial data.

The integrated report includes selected indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative reporting standard (GRI) in the G4 version and own indicators of the PGNiG Group. This report contains indicators prepared on the basis of the GRI Guidelines for Sustainability Reports, however, it does not meet all the requirements of compliance with the Guidelines. The report was prepared on the basis of selected guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting standard – G4 and integrated reporting.


The process of defining the content of the report was based on the analysis of relevant aspects and stakeholders developed in previous years. While preparing particular contents, the following were taken into account: significance of presented information, completeness of presented contents and wider context of sustainable development.

Sustainable Development Goals

The activities presented in the report are often a response to the challenges defined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ) up to 2030, announced by the UN in September 2015. These goals are implemented by us through long-term programs aimed at the development of employees at all levels and taking care of the social and market environment.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are particular supported by the activities of the PGNiG Group:

  • Goal 4 – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
  • Goal 6 – Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
  • Goal 7 – Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
  • Goal 8 – Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
  • Goal 9 – Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
  • Goal 10 – Reduce inequality within and among countries
  • Goal 12 – Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
  • Goal 14 – Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
  • Goal 15 – Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
